You have nothing against cleaning, I am sure. But what you surely hate is having to spend the limited amount of free time over the weekend, scrubbing and cleaning, polishing, vacuuming, dusting. After all the weekends are made for laughter and walks and talks, for family time and family lunches, for chill afternoons and books over cups of tea and hot chocolate. However, there is a solution that could change your life, literally. Because no one ever said that you have to perform that clean-up in the beautiful Saturday afternoon. So here, ladies and gentlemen, is how it has to be done.
Clean over the week
I know, I know, at first sight this seems even worse than the weekend clean-up, but if you consider it calmly for a moment without shouting at me for being crazy, you will realize that this is the absolutely better option. Take your time in a nice Wednesday or Thursday evening, when after you have had dinner, you are wondering what to do. Well remove the dust from every surface and vacuum your house. It won’t take you long, but it will make a change. Then if you have some time another evening, clean the kitchen and make it shine. Thus you will have the chance to stay in bed till noon on Saturday without feeling guilty.
Clean as you go
This could be your saviour. Here you do not need more time, because you can multitask and clean without actually spending separate time for cleaning. Sounds strange, but it is not. Put your shoes were they belong, when you come home and your clothes in the closet. Thus you won’t need to declutter later. Wash the dishes, while the meal is in the oven, and you won’t have to do in afterwards. Save time, be rational.

Here’s what makes it work for me…
